Verbena plants have become increasingly fashionable in recent years, their purple blooms wafting so elegantly through herbaceous borders and used frequently by top garden designers. Botanically critically acclaimed, the Verbena flower is a summer stunner not to be missed. Watering is the biggest hangup I’ve seen people experience with these flowering annuals.

It grows 12 inches tall and can spread 4 feet across as a groundcover. It will trail over the sides of a container or hanging basket. Verbena x hybrida 'Peaches and Cream' is a showstopper with peach and creamy-white blooms. Verbena 'Fuego Dark Violet' is a vigorous selection with large clusters of rich violet-purple flowers and excellent heat tolerance. Annual verbenas don't perform well in hot, damp summers. Plant verbena in a location that receives 8 to 10 hours of sun daily.
Take the Fuss Out of Verbena: A Growing Guide
Verbena 'Tukana Scarlet Star' features large bright red flowers with a sparkling white eye. It's heat tolerant and flowers all summer, growing 8 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Aztec Red verbena (Verbena 'Aztec Red Velvet') offers rich red flowers with a creamy center on a plant that spreads to 12 inches. If you're interested in growing annual verbenas in your garden or containers, they can be started from seed. However, if the plant is a hybrid, stem cuttings are a better propagation method because they result in seedings that are identical to their parents. You’ll be able to find live verbena at almost any garden center during the spring and summer growing season, but starting from seed is a relatively easy process.

Larkspur is so easy to grow that it often self-seeds in the garden, coming back year after year. Plant larkspur from seed directly in the garden in early spring. When hot weather strikes and larkspur starts to brown and fade, pull out plants, but be sure to leave a few to brown and reseed.

More than other annuals I’ve worked with, these blooming annuals require frequent feeding. It wants at least six hours of sunlight a day, prefers well-drained soil but isn’t picky about the quality of the soil, and needs about an inch of rain a week. The first time I interacted with verbena, I kind of hated it.

It is in every respectable garden and at every horticultural show. Its popularity is due in part to its suitability to the rising prairie garden planting style which has become popular since the 1990s following the teachings of Piet Oudolf. Verbena 'Superbena Large Lilac Blue' is a vigorous selection with good disease resistance that bears large lilac-blue flowers.
The plant will live with only 6 hours of sun daily, but it won't flower prolifically. Verbena needs eight hours of full sun in moderately rich, well-draining soil to produce a seemingly endless supply of blooms. It is ideal for climbing fences and trellises or cascading from baskets, but it is just as happy in rock gardens or as groundcover. Other varieties are more upright and a good option for smaller spaces and containers.
Verbena 'Superbena Pink Parfait' shows off wonderful soft-pink flowers over fuzzy, disease-resistant foliage. Verbena 'Summer Snow' is a trailing selection growing to 10 inches with pure-white blooms. Verbena 'Fuego Red' is a fast-growing variety that shows off big clusters of brilliant red flowers. Verbena 'Fuego Pink' offers rich pink flowers on a vigorous spreading plant.
Many varieties are sweetly fragrant (sniff blooms in the garden center to be sure). Some also tout themselves as "weatherproof," which means that the flowers don't close up when water is splashed on them. Reaching up to 4 feet long, it's excellent as a groundcover or when cascading from window boxes and pots. All petunias do best and grow more bushy and full if you pinch or cut them back by one- to two-thirds in midsummer. Set verbena plants into the garden in spring after all danger of frost has passed. Loosen well-draining soil to a depth of 12 inches and space the plants 12 to 18 inches apart.
With a large number of people living under one roof, noise and messiness can become common occurrences. While this may not be the case for every fraternity or sorority, it is a factor to consider when deciding to live in a frat house. Greek letter organizations have often been characterized as elitist or exclusionary associations, organized for the benefit of a largely white, upper-class membership base. Because of residential requirements, some college campuses and national chapter administrations also prohibit members of the opposite sex on certain floors of fraternity and sorority houses. To start a fraternity, you first have to decide if you want to start a chapter of an existing fraternity (which would be called a colony until it is a recognized chapter) or an entirely new Greek letter organization (GLO). National fraternities have their own rules about starting a chapter, but will usually send a representative to a campus to help with the process.

Aggression and humiliation are the norms here, the one driving the other. Jonathan Alexander, a UCI English professor, said that historically bars were one of the few places that gay and lesbian people could meet in public spaces. In 1825, Kappa Alpha Society, the first fraternity to retain its social characteristic, was established at Union College in Schenectady, New York. In 1827, Sigma Phi and Delta Phi were also founded at the same institution,[8] creating the Union Triad.

Last year in the US, four freshman students died as a direct result of hazing rituals during college fraternity initiation ceremonies. All the deaths occurred during or just after drinking bouts in which the victims consumed vast amounts of spirits in a short space of time while older students egged them on. One of the deceased, Maxwell Gruver, 19, a student at Louisiana State University, was found to have had a blood-alcohol level over .49 g/dl at the time of his death – just .31 is considered life-threatening. He already lives in a big house – frats supply $3bn-worth of property across America’s campuses, costing students up to $2,500 a term in rent. Students with common interests gathered to discuss, debate, and socialize. Over the decades, chapters built houses — as an alternative to rooming houses and apartments, when universities rarely provided campus housing.

The stereotypical idea of a frat boy is a shaggy-haired drunken buffoon in a pink Polo shirt. To be sure, there are plenty of fraternity men who embody this stereotype. But the ideal fraternity man, according to most fraternities' stated goals, is a gentleman -- a leader in the community who excels in his academic studies and earns the respect of his brothers. Fraternity members are often campus leaders, involved in student government, honor societies and other organizations. Typically, recruitment takes place at the beginning of the fall semester. But some colleges require that the process begin at the middle or the end of the summer so students have time to settle in and get their classes in order.

Fraternity Living: How to Survive Living in a Frat House
There is usually a lounge of some sort, access to which is often restricted to fully initiated members. Fraternities and sororities will also often maintain a chapter room, to which only initiates may ever be admitted and even whose existence may be kept secret. The walls of the house may be decorated with pictures of past chapter events, awards, and trophies, decorative (or historic) paddles, or composite photos of members from past years. A fraternity house can either be a filthy party den or a place that someone actually might want to live in. Because of lawsuits against fraternities for allegations of hazing, sexual assault and alcohol- and drug-related incidents at fraternity-sponsored parties, fraternities spend quite a bit of money on insurance. Most Greek organizations are familiar with Fraternal Information and Programming Group's (FIPG) risk-management policy, a document outlining how, when and where alcohol can be served and consumed.
Why did Reggie Bush lose his Heisman Trophy? How did the former USC star get it back?
Thank you, and ‘The Fraternity Leader‘ was an excellent read, and was my bible when I was chapter president. With all that running through your head, you need to go figure out what the city ordinances are on the subject. It usually requires a conditional use permit to operate a fraternity on a given property.
Shock, jocks! Inside America’s frat houses
And our International office doesn’t finance new chapter facilities. We are an 80 man chapter and growing, but this will come to a halt if we don’t figure out a way to build a new house; Since 3 fraternities are building new houses now and 2 more are scheduled to be built by 2016. You can imagine if you owned a rental property you might be a bit concerned that a fraternity is going to be harder on it than a random group of students. You also have to pay significantly higher property insurance.
View the Map of IFC and Panhellenic Council Chapter houses. Chapters who do not have a house can be reached in the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life. Fraternities and sororities engage in philanthropic activities, host parties, provide "finishing" training for new members such as instruction on etiquette, dress, and manners, and create networking opportunities for their newly graduated members. Few players, if any, in the storied history of college football have managed to captivate the sport quite like Bush. His presence in the Trojans’ backfield would be central to one of the most dominant runs that sport ever saw. As a junior in 2005, he rushed for 1,740 yards, averaging a stunning 8.7 yards per carry, and scored 19 total touchdowns as USC mounted a dominant run before falling short to Texas in the 2005 BCS national championship game at the Rose Bowl.
Many fraternities also rush in the spring, especially if they didn't meet the quota for their fall pledge class. Living in a frat house offers a unique experience, but it is important to consider the living conditions. Privacy and silence may be at a premium, as you will be sharing living spaces with dozens of other members.
If only the residents are paying the rent/bills then why do non-residents get a say in anything – be it when the place can be used or who is allowed inside. As a chapter, you’re going to have to pay some money from dues to split the cost of this location. It may be residents pay the rent and chapter pays the bills or it could be something more complex than that.
Privacy and silence will be at a premium, and you’ll be surrounded by dozens of other guys every day. For a decade, the university was left unable to even acknowledge the existence of one of its foremost football legends. The NCAA finally loosened its rules on disassociation bans, allowing Bush to officially be welcomed back to campus in June 2020. It was new rules governing NIL, passed back in 2021, that initially spurred Bush to begin lobbying publicly for his trophy’s return. The Heisman Trust expressed a willingness to welcome Bush back at the time but passed the responsibility of that decision on to the NCAA, which still refused to acknowledge Bush’s official statistics and records from his 2005 trophy-winning season.
After the laughter died down, Northwestern administrators banned the frat from campus. In order to hire in-house chefs, fraternities have required meal plans. The number of meals per week varies depending on the house.
Usually, the more expensive the house the higher the annual organization dues. Some fraternities and sororities are un-housed, with members providing their accommodations. In many of these cases, the fraternity or sorority owns or rents a non-residential clubhouse on or off campus to use for meetings and other activities. Joining a fraternity or sorority and living in a frat house can provide a unique college experience filled with friendship, leadership opportunities, academic support, and philanthropy. However, it is important to consider the financial commitments that come with membership, such as member dues and housing costs.
While National Lampoon may have set the standard for the public's idea of fraternity life, these societies vary widely by campus, organization and location. I know how important a house can be to the operation and development of a fraternity and its members. My advice to you though is to find a group of responsible alumni to serve as your housing corporation and let them help you navigate through this situation. If you are brand new chapter without alumni, then work with your nationals and the school to identify people that might be willing to help. They don’t necessarily have to be initiates of your fraternity to serve on a housing corp. Triangle membership is something that connects UCLA alumni with the brothers of today.

A sizable amount for sure, but not enough to get a new house. You will have proven that you are willing to help yourself – a huge step when you ask others for help. This is when you go to your alumni to take your campaign to the next level. If you don’t take care of the house you have, you cannot expect your alumni to support you in getting a new house. I realize your current house is old and not in the best shape.
Greek Housing
Living in a fraternity or sorority house can offer a unique experience, but it also means sacrificing privacy and dealing with potential noise and messiness from living with a large number of people. However, it is important to note that not all fraternity houses will be loud and messy, and some may have stricter rules and regulations in place to maintain a cleaner and quieter living environment. It plays a crucial role in creating a well-rounded fraternity experience. Fraternities and sororities, commonly referred to as frats, were established to provide a unique environment for fostering academic, community service, and social initiatives.

Below, see a selection of Holt's best frat house coverage. Fraternities, and to a lesser extent sororities, have been criticized for hazing, sometimes committed by active undergraduate members against their chapter's pledges. Hazing during the pledge period can sometimes culminate in an event commonly known as "Hell Week" in which a week-long series of physical and mental torments are inflicted on pledges.
– Set Up an Alumni Campaign
Explain in the communication the details you shared with your alumni association. The alumni brothers who aren’t that involved need to understand why the house is needed and they need to know about the commitment from the chapter. There are plenty of ways to make money for the chapter that can be a lot of fun for the brothers.
In his voiceover, Phillips reveals that some frat members have grown uncomfortable with outsiders filming their exploits. Phillips decides to take a risk and shows up to a skeptical frat house unannounced. When he and his crew arrive, they discover pledges being blindfolded and tricked into believing they'll be branded with a hot iron. Shortly after witnessing this, Phillips and company are kicked out and told they can no longer film at the frat house. Blossom tells Phillips it's best if the film crew leaves town and ceases production.

They also served as important venues in the ’80s and ’90s to get information about the then-emerging threat of HIV and AIDS. Birthday party decorations — gold and white balloon centerpieces joined with gold foil stars — from a recent celebration still hang in the main room. Bottles in plastic crates clink as they’re hefted from trucks and dollies and carried into the stockroom of the dimly-lit bar tucked between a church and a multipurpose lot.
An initiated member's first step show is called a probate show. Recruitment is a time for a potential new member to get to know the brothers and see if the organization is something he might like to join. In turn, it's a time for the brothers to get to know the rushees and see if they'd fit in. "Toga, toga, toga!" Does this familiar chant from "Animal House" bring fraternities to mind?
The Dangers and Consequences of Hazing
More brothers means more guys who can come up with more ideas. “What happened was that a separate chapter of the fraternity he [Phillips] pledged and made look like a bunch of idiots in his film, was the same fraternity that the head of Time Warner’s son belonged to at another college,” Sloss said. Moisey’s black and white photographs move from portraiture to reportage to a low-lit style that is close to surveillance photography – some rituals are carried out in candlelight.
So, in your case, I’d say you’re looking at probably 5-7 guys you can put in a house. Beta housing volunteers are not only fundraisers, facility managers and house directors, they are also mentors, coaches, managers and trainers. The Fraternity provides a number of resources and training opportunities to those filling these vital roles. The film premiered at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival to acclaim, winning the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary. The film never received an official release, though bootleg versions have occasionally circulated online. If you answered yes to most of these questions, in-house Greek life is probably not for you.

Fraternity brothers often involve pledges in exercises of loyalty and trust. Pledges and brothers may also have a pledge project they work on together (building something for the house, for example) and be in charge of tasks like cleaning up after house parties. Pledges may do things for brothers, like serve as a designated driver on weekends. Pledges in black fraternities and some other fraternities spend much of their pledge period learning how to step.

You can get a house, I’m not against that, but you need to focus on changing your chapter into something that attracts more people. In my fraternity, a chapter of 22 would be in danger of losing their charter and have extra visits from nationals hoping to turn you around before they have to shut the doors for lack of interest. Before you try to get a house, at very least, have a retreat to address those other issues with what needs to change about your chapter and where you need to be going.
Be sure to put this money in a completely separate bank account that is ear-marked as the house fund. I would make it so that withdrawals on this account can only be made with the cosignature of the president of the alumni association. The last thing you want is the chapter raiding the account to throw a party a few semesters from now. If the brothers aren’t willing to cough up an extra fifty bucks a semester, I question how badly the chapter wants a new house. It’s just as easy to throw some composites on the wall and call it a fraternity house. You won’t be covered by national insurance if you do that.
To Bush, one of the most electric talents in college football history, the decision to return the trophy marked a major moment of vindication after nearly two decades spent declaring he’d done nothing wrong. Reggie Bush, after years spent fighting to retake his place among college football’s most prestigious fraternity, is finally getting his Heisman Trophy back. In some fraternities, pledging is a process with multiple stages that can take up to a year and a half. In other fraternities, pledging takes place over a matter of weeks. If someone's father, grandfather or other male relative was part of a certain fraternity, he may also want to join that fraternity and will be given special consideration during rush. There are several benefits to getting the alumni to take the lead.
We'll also discuss the dangers of hazing and explore fraternity life. These next steps will also include making calls to alumni brothers asking for donations. It probably should also include an alumni fundraising event or two at the chapter. Maybe the chapter has a dinner at homecoming for all alumni brothers and the proceeds go to the house fund.
There’s not someone playing pool on the other side of your bedroom wall at 3am when you have a test the next day. There’s not a constant stream of highly distracting entertainment to keep you from doing your job as a student. As a fraternity, when asking your members to live in a place like this, you have to compensate them.
The field of UX design offers various opportunities for flexibility, including flexible work hours, remote work options, and freelancing possibilities. Start by familiarizing yourself with tools that make remote work possible, such as HotJar for user research and Crazy Egg for user testing. As with anything, you may have to work a little harder to prove yourself as a designer before you forge a stable remote career, but it’s absolutely possible. If you are a new or aspiring UX designer looking to work remote from the get-go, you’ll want to know just how realistic that is.
Remote Graphic Design Jobs – Work From Home
Away from that, it’s easy for tasks to be forgotten about or missed. You’re probably wondering about remote UX designer salaries—and whether or not they differ from that of an in-house designer. The good news is, there’s more remote work for a UX designer than ever before. When you learn a skill that you can do online from anywhere, you detach yourself from the limitations of your local job market and all of a sudden, the pool becomes much bigger—you have more options.
UX / UI
We’ve covered some of the most frequently asked questions relating to remote work below. As of 2024, the average yearly salary for a mid-level UX designer in the United States earns $127,364, depending on years of experience (indeed.com). If you’re just entering the field, you can expect to work your way up to this kind of salary within a few years.

And as new tools emerge almost daily, the opportunities for working digitally are growing. The idea is to work through a high-level design problem and create a record of all your ideas and where they came from. Get all your thoughts out in one place first to reduce time spent going back and forth about designs.

In the first section, we’ll show you how to plan your remote workshop. In the second section, we’ll show you how to actually deliver it—including a breakdown of what your agenda might look like. In remote design, it can be difficult for clients to understand your decisions. This happens even more when it’s time for them to explain their thoughts about the design back to you!
The latest remote design internships from top remote companies who are hiring intern designers right now. For remote interaction design teams, managing different versions of a project can be a logistical nightmare. However, the most collaborative UX design platforms include robust version control systems that allow teams to track changes, revert to previous versions, and understand the evolution of a design. This feature is crucial for maintaining a clear history of a project's progress and ensuring that all team members are on the same page, regardless of their physical location. It’s difficult enough to run a multi-day Design Sprint with everyone in the same room.
You’ve heard of the design thinking workshop—now it’s time to take it remote…
All this saves time in the long run and prevents awkward misunderstandings when your colleagues finally look at what you’ve done after weeks or months of work. Sometimes, when you’re mocking up a new feature or trying to work through different prototypes, it’s hard to understand what someone is thinking just by looking at a screen share. Luckily, since the introduction of video walkthroughs, this has become so much easier. Being face-to-face with someone is important for communicating, which is why it’s better to meet in person before you start working if possible.
- Instructional Designer
Creating individual workspaces for each team member increases overall efficiency. It lets people stay focused on their tasks and gives a clear view of their progress, allowing the facilitator to quickly see if anyone is having trouble. It’s best to schedule participants within a nine-hour window across timezones.
Senior Product Designer, CRM
Network interconnect provides intelligent routing between sites connected to the Secure Connect network fabric. Cloud Firewall network access policies control access to private applications and resources, enforcing zero-trust policies. It’s essential to give everyone an overview of what’s going to happen during a Design Sprint. The process is intense, and it’s best to make sure people are on the same page and are aware of what will happen. They need to understand the challenge and what is expected of them. It might sound obvious, but it’s also a good idea to make sure the team knows how to operate all the remote tools and tech that will be used.
We’ve included recommended time allocations for each item, giving you a total workshop duration of four hours (including three 15-minute breaks, and some buffer time). This step might seem obvious, but it’s not simply a case of sending a calendar invite. Your participants should know the importance of the workshop, and that they’ve been invited to take part because their input is valued. You work remotely, so don’t take anything for granted, and make sure to share everything in the form of written information. It’s much better than making routine calls, which can easily turn into lengthy status updates no one wants to listen to. If you’re still struggling with design stage fright, don’t be afraid to reach out to a colleague via your team chat app or video call to get their thoughts.
You also get to be part of a network that understands what it’s like to work on a team where everyone isn’t in the same room. If you’re using digital diagramming tools (highly recommended!), then you’ll automatically have a lot of useful artifacts. In the course of a typical design process, you may have created many diagrams that provide context for your work.
When it comes to design thinking and imagining how it might be used and applied, it’s important to think beyond the realms of “design” and “digital”. While design thinking can be used to come up with new product ideas and new features for existing products, it works equally well for internal processes or customer experiences away from the digital interface. When designing remotely, try to make sure you can find a community of like-minded people who design and develop software remotely as well. Design communities give you an opportunity to bounce ideas off someone.
His approach is result-oriented with a strong emphasis on user-centered design. It’s essentially anything that makes your idea tangible and allows it to be tested in some way. At this stage, you may be wondering how many participants to invite. Given that you’re holding your workshop remotely, you’ll want to stick with between six and eight participants. This should give you a good mixture of perspectives while keeping the group size manageable. Together with your invite and an outline of what participants can expect from the workshop, it’s a good idea to include some information about design thinking.
While the traditional Design Sprint framework works great for in-person sessions, a few adjustments are needed to fit remote, distributed teams. After many iterations (and truthfully, a few mistakes), a winning solution was developed. The team goes through various exercises for a whole day, filling up whiteboards and amassing sticky notes.

Knowing what’s coming will help your participants to embrace the process. We’ll take a closer look at what to include in your workshop agenda in phase two. Brittni has facilitated workshops for the likes of Twitter, Procter & Gamble, and Lufthansa, so she certainly knows what makes for an awesome workshop—both in-person and remote. Once I’d finished my UX design program, the world felt much bigger all of a sudden, and I was looking at remote roles all over the world. If you want true freedom, the best way to achieve that is by learning a skill that allows you to work remotely.

The designer played with striking pieces, evoking high art and sculpture. Katie Martinez of Katie Martinez Design studied her color theory, mixing yellow with its fellow primary color, blue.
Paint tricks, furniture layout and decorative accessories can make a huge difference to the look and feel of your room. To give you some inspiration, we've compiled 50 gorgeous living room ideas to use as a starting point for your next decorating project. Pair leather furniture with very simple decor, white walls, and muted colors to recreate this lovely look.
Use Two Stools as a Coffee Table
In this jewel-toned sitting room by Fran Keenan, a traditional, eclectic design style emerges from the colors in the space. 'Metal in contemporary-style living rooms isn’t to be kept for tables and larger pieces of furniture alone,' adds Quinn. An eclectic living room can be modern too, so don't be afraid to mix and match furniture from all different eras and all different styles. Note how in this living room the statement Mid-century modern chairs and statement rug work with the more traditional sofas.
Embrace Midcentury Modern
The space is finished with Art Deco-inspired furnishings and an "indestructible dyed cowhide rug that's perfect for high-traffic events," says Dewberry. Create a country cottage feel with wood-panel walls and classic cottage hallmarks, such as gingham, soft blue, cheery neutrals, and a bouquet of textures. Combine vintage style with modern elements by using pieces purchased from consignment stores and antique shops. Reupholstered cushions with modern fabrics update this eclectic living room with an interplay of pattern and color.
Refresh It With Accent Paint
Their leafy green silk upholstery seems to pull the radiance of the surrounding palm leaves through the tall glass doors. Italian artist Daniele Bacci’s geometric paintings spark conversation. The sterling silver urn on a marble-topped Regency chest (Ebanista) originally belonged to Doris Duke’s estate. Your living room is a place built for leisure time, from bonding with family to entertaining friends to relaxing and recharging on your own.
Plush blankets and layers of taupe accent pillows create a cozy, lived-in look without distracting from the modern feel created by the coffee table and abstract artwork. If you're working with a small living space, focus on bringing design elements up rather than trying to fit everything within the floor space. Here, the vaulted wood ceiling allows for an elaborate light fixture, while the floor-to-ceiling gray stone fireplace surround creates a backdrop for colorful art.
Add an accessory with boho vibes, like a tasseled chandelier, to make your living room more playful and cozy. Cortney Bishop wanted to make this new build feel lived-in and give it a sense of place by incorporating natural materials and tones. This soft light fixture is a beautiful way to bring in natural yet modern energy.

Next, position smaller seating options, such as chairs or love seats, opposite or adjacent to the first piece. Finish by filling in with accent furniture, including ottomans (like this Better Homes & Gardens Round Tufted Storage Ottoman, $78, Walmart), coffee tables, end tables, and lamps. Make sure each seat is within reach of at least one tabletop surface. Set a moody tone in your living room by painting walls and built-ins black. Although the dark color is bold, it creates a timeless look and cozy ambience when paired with lighter accents.
An expanse of south-facing windows, for example, makes a sunny, inviting spot for a seating area. A pair of chairs with a set of stools converts this well-lit corner into a cozy spot for two. Grant yourself the flexibility to switch your living room furniture arrangement to match the occasion. Fill an empty corner with a lightweight chair that can be pulled easily into the sitting area if needed. Add in pieces like ottomans or stools that can function as side tables for drinks or serve as seating for guests. Skip brighter hues for a living room that exudes a sultry and mysterious air.
Kelsey McGregor of Kelsey Leigh Design Co. loves to pair modern with vintage. The arched bookcase and oversized ottoman exude a clean, modern aesthetic, while the round brass chandelier, ceramic decor and landscape art add a vintage take. Opposites on the color wheel, shades of yellow — like mustard — pair beautifully with light and dark blue tones. The power of opposing color combinations is evident in this striking space from Bethany Adams Interiors. Wallpaper can look great on every wall, but we love it as just a feature wall – stops the space from being too busy and gives the room a focus.
Designer Laura Jenkins was tasked with making the two spaces in this shared living-dining area feel distinct. To that end, she outfitted the den with a comfy sectional, nestling it in the window-wrapped corner. The oversized sofa is the perfect fuss-free option for the young family of four, while a floating chair and coffee table round out the room and make it more friendly for visitors. If your living room is frequently used for chats with family and friends, choose a furniture layout that facilitates conversation.
